  Laparoscopic surgery also referred to as minimally invasive surgery, describes the performance of surgical procedures with the assistance of a video camera and several thin instruments. During the surgical procedure, small incisions of up to half an inch are made and plastic tubes called ports are placed through these incisions. The camera and the instruments are then introduced through the ports which allow access to the inside of the patient. The instruments used in laparoscopy are specially designed to grasp, dissect, cut, and cauterize safely within the tight confines of the working space. These instruments come in a wide variety of designs to suit the needs of the surgeon and procedure.

Surgik Single-Use vs Reusable Laparoscopes
The future of disposable Laparoscopes is here, we have a complete line of state-of-the-art instruments to meet the needs of the surgical team for hospital, surgery center, and office-based procedures. Opinion was "very mixed" regarding the usage of disposable/reusable instruments. It's really depends a lot on surgeon preference. However, the benefits of using Surgik laparoscopes is the cost efficient and the quality of each instruments we made. For example, our instruments will always be very sharp as new and staff do not have to worry about cleaning and repairing. Reusable Laparoscopes are extremely expensive, almost 30 times more expensive than our single-use instruments, no including maintenance, chemical, repairing, staff and time consuming. and there is not guaranteed that they will last for few weeks before repairing them. Depending on the manufacturer, they could wear out quickly even in few months of usage. No even mentioned risk of cross contamination putting in risk your patient.
