Surgik LC :: Non Absorbables Sutures :: Silk
Silk Sutures Comparable To
Perma-Hand
Surgik's Silk suture is a nonabsorbable, sterile, flexible multifilament thread composed of an organic protein called fibroin. This protein is derived from the domesticated species Bombyx mori (B. mori) of the family Bombycidae. While Silk suture is not absorbed, progressive degradation of the proteinaceous silk fiber in vivo may result in gradual loss of the suture tensile strength over time. Silk suture elicits a minimal acute inflammatory reaction in tissue, which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissue. Our needles are made of special surgical grade 400 Series stainless steel to provide both strength and flexibility. Stronger, sharper, and enhanced ductility produced in a totally automated factory with the highest ISO and FDA quality standards. We provide World Class needles quality equal to, or better than, any other top needle on the market today at a very reasonable price.
